Louise Haigh has been the Labour MP for Sheffield Heeley since the May 2015 General Election. She was born and brought up on Abbeydale Road and is Labour's youngest MP. She is recognised as being the hardest working MP amongst the new intake of 177 MPs. The Speaker referring to her "terrier-like intensity" in the pursuit of Government Ministers.

In September 2015 she was appointed as Shadow Minister for the Civil Service and Digital Reform.
